Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to the drupal camp and meeting developers who have been seriously building with and around drupal. It was a great high seeing people work on the platform I've enjoyed so much for last 8 odd months. There were people with varied experiences and it was fun talking to all people. I met many interesting people out of whom I made good friendship with Satish from mumbai. He was kind enough to let me share his space and put me up in his hotel room, we talked a lot on various issues and not just drupal and computers. He is one honest man :). It was also great talking to the Gloscon team at large and particularly roshan who understands drupal and its market grip. We talked on various strengths and some weaknesses of drupal for which many of us had ideas to improve. On the final day we had a code sprint, which was more like group learning and we got our hands dirty on simple test. All in all amazing camp, cant wait to go to the next one. I also happened to speak in drupal camp on Architecture of Drupal (was initially to be exclusively D6 but as it was in student's track and most of them new, I changed my presentation to general drupal arch) and Building social networking sites with and around drupal where I got to speak with developers on issues in building SNS and how drupal provides a extensible framework to build upon (this was more of experience sharing from my past engagements of building SNS with drupal). I hope the communication will grow among indian drupal developers and the newbies with inputs from larger drupal community at drupal.org.
